Now that we’re on the verge of World War III and more impoverished than ever thanks to a combo of the ultra-competitive, winner-take-all, money-matters-more-than-anything-else system and the fact that we keep voting for billionaires, the working class needs to get a reality check about these people whose rule and system we continue to tolerate.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a conservative, liberal, Libertarian, or ‘moderate’ or whatever. It also doesn’t matter if you’re a Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, etc., blah blah blah.
Things are going to get worse and worse both on the domestic and global field if we keep tolerating this status quo, so I urge you to listen up. All the evidence is there, and continued denial due to an emotional connection to our abusers (or one faction or wing of them thereof) and the devil that we know (i.e., the capitalist system) is only going to prolong our agony at best, and escalate it to the nth degree at worst.
Let’s get started…
The capitalists do not share our social values. None of them do.
Newsflash #1: If you happen to be one of the working class, Democrats don’t like you more because you’re a PoC, a woman, an LGBTQ, or a Muslim.
Newsflash #2: If you happen to be one of the working class, Republicans do not like you more if you’re a white, male, cis-heterosexual Christian.
They like everyone who is a member of their own class, which is why George W. Bush and Ellen DeGeneres became such good friends. And why Trump is actually friends with the Clintons and Barack Obama; and merrily played golf with Biden right up until the latter couldn’t hold a club any longer.
Looking out for specific demographics of people (i.e., identity politics) is all performance theater to distract the working class with emotionally provocative wedge issues to distract us from the economic system and the consequences of billionaire rule (the real privileged people in this world); and to divide us against each other so that we do not achieve the kind of class consciousness that the capitalist class has always enjoyed.
Capitalists’ social values revolve around making more and more money, taking more and more private ownership of everything, and reducing production costs as much as possible — including labor costs, which is why they have been rapidly developing automation and A.I. to replace as many of us as possible as quickly as possible. Hence, they want to maintain class rule by any means necessary. That’s their social values in a nutshell… not helping the working class as a whole, or any specific demographics (identity groups) within it.
Are any women or LGBTQs who aren’t wealthy being invited into the exclusive country clubs by Biden or the Clintons?
Are any white people or Zionists who aren’t wealthy being invited into those exact same country clubs by Trump or Cheney?
How many of you who are not people of means have been invited to golf with Barack Obama or George Bush because they like what race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion you are?
Wake up, people!
The two major parties are funded by the same billionaires, many of whom also fund the pro-capitalism Libertarian Party (which is not surprisingly the largest third party and the only one to routinely make it on the ballot of all 50 states).
Conservatives really hated Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai, and Bob Iger for so readily jumping on board the Left Woke policy of the Democrats, especially during Biden’s four years. And the liberals loved them for it. So, those robber barons must really care about that agenda, right?
Except for how quickly every single one of them jumped on board Team Trump when he won the 2024 election, with all attending his inauguration and Iger literally kissing the ring on his finger. Did they owe him that after losing bets during their golf games together?
Also note how much the liberals hate Elon Musk because he was always against the Dem’s DEI agenda, bought Twitter and de-wokeified it, and jumped on Team Trump to try and control the government he has contributed so much lucre to a bit more openly than billionaires usually do? But were they saying any bad things about him during the 2020 election cycle when he supported and voted for Biden?
Why would these people do that if they’re loyal to the Democrats and their supposed social causes? Or to the Republicans and what they’re known for supporting?
Could it be… because capitalists, unlike labor, put class loyalty ahead of petty emotional issues? Or superficial things like identity, which never matters much if you have millions of dollars to spend and influence?
Learn this if you learn nothing else from them, people!
Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats are going to “rescue” us from the problems caused by the other wing of the Duopoly… because they do not give a shit about the working class. Hence, voting for one wing of the Duopoly or the other is not going to bring the working class needed fundamental change.
Let’s start with the Democrats.
Why did this supposed party of the working class and progressive values turn their backs on our class, break all their promises, vote in more pro-corporate policies, continue raiding the national treasury & what little remains of our social programs, and satiate the Military Industrial Complex of war-profiteers by getting us involved in constant, destructive wars?
Why did each of them since Clinton escalate every problem caused by Republican administrations before them? And pass nasty policy bills that the Republicans never got the chance to do (despite wanting to), like… ?:
Escalating the Drug War.
Rapidly privatizing many prisons.
Escalating the de-regulation frenzy.
Passing the free trade agreement (NAFTA) that moved what was left of our high-paying factory jobs abroad so that Americans were left with mostly low-paying service sector jobs and uber-(pun intended)-unreliable gig work.
Ending “welfare as we know it” (to quote Bill Clinton regarding his very illiberal and anti-progressive act of 1996).
Repealing the Glass-Steagall Act that separated commercial and investment banking, thus paving the way for the subprime loan scam that caused so much hardship for working class people who wanted to own homes in the 2000s; and the global collapse of the banking industry (which both the Bush and Obama administrations bailed the criminal bankers out of) that caused the Great Recession of 2008–2009.
And why did they do nothing to reverse the attacks on our civil liberties by Republican administrations like the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security, the increase in state surveillance, the fighting of wars based on lies, the pro-corporate bankruptcy law, and the out-of-control legal loan sharking industry like Sallie Mae that made higher education a life-long debt machine for most working class students? (Remember how Biden broke that promise while pretending to tend to it in a deliberately half-assed way so he could say that he “tried”?)
And why did Obama actually escalate the two wars started by the Republican administration preceding him into seven? Why did he break his promises to close down Guantanamo Bay, establish a “public option” for medical insurance, and to codify abortion rights into federal law if elected?
And you liberals and adjacents thereof seriously want to tell socialists like me to vote for a Democrat in 2028 to “end” the many horrid attacks on our social safety net, civil liberties, and the destructive wars now being conducted by Trump? Especially when what is now going on with Ukraine and Israel were started and brought to a powder keg under the Biden/Harris administration?
Now, lest you think I’m being easier on the conservatives…
Are you MAGA folks surprised that your boy Trump has broken so many of his promises to make things better for the working class? Do you see that he is simply escalating all the bad, pro-corporate things the Democrat administrations before him did? Including breaking his promises on not being a war president?
Do all of you seriously think this endless merry-go-round with a Democrat administration following a Republican administration, rinse and repeat, is going to do anything for the working class?
No, because all this will do is maintain the current status quo and push it further towards its ultimate goal of mutating the economic world order into Industrial Feudalism, a.k.a., Techno-Feudalism — where we own nothing and become the new serfs who are forced to pay endless “rent” to the new feudal tech lords.
And this will occur while they our billionaire lords and ladies have us fighting over which demographic should have nominal social or job privileges over the other; or who should or shouldn’t be able to use this or that bathroom; or whether or not we should be required to use gender pronouns; or whether or not heterosexuality or homosexuality is on a higher moral plane than the other… yadda yadda yadda.
All capitalists follow the same script if elected… to further enrich their class while taking more and more away from us, even if crumbs are all we have left to take.
Stop thinking that voting for one of them will make life better for gays;
Or no longer shameful to be white;
Or “safe” to be Jewish;
Or demand specific pronoun usage;
Or take all the remaining good jobs from men and give them to women, while forcing men to cuck to them;
Or take any remaining good jobs from women and give them all back to men while forcing women back into the kitchen;
Or make the entertainment industry entertaining again… etc., et al.
Wake. The. Fuck. Up. People!
Before it’s too late. Let’s not allow our class to help the billionaire class take what little we have left and plunge the world into chaos in the process. It’s the only world we’ve got (Musk trying to get some of us to Mars, notwithstanding) and they do not deserve to rule it and hoard the lion’s share of everything.
As is often said, all of these billionaires — and the multi-millionaires and affluent POCs who serve them while pretending to be on our side (or, at least on the side of this or that identity group) — belong to the same club and we’re not in it.
Well said. I appreciate you mentioning the Glass-Steagall Act, which after all is my namesake 😊
I think many of us know. We just can't figure what to do.
