This is the case here too. You are "highly encouraged" to tip for food delivery. Think recently, it was Swedish workers? who were striking to prevent Tesla from entering their ports if they do not allow Swedish workers to unionise. X
With food prices going up, and especially how they are marked up by food delivery services like DoorDash and Grubhub, customers cannot be expected to compensate for the low wages paid to the workers who perform the services. What we DO need to expect is for employers to be paying these important workers a living wage. If they do not, then these employers can expect a high turnover rate of employees and a loss of customers who can no longer afford to pay both for the food and the expected tips on top of that.
The issue is not a case of stinginess on the part of the customers, who are already paying plenty for the service itself. The matter is stinginess on the part of the employer, who *could* afford to be paying their employers a very good wage for their hard work.

Ya, I do agree. It's like asking the beggar to give the clothes off his back. But where's the tipping point that people will not do it anymore? X
